Black Cat Crossed My Road

[Verse 1]
Black cat crossed my road last night
Got me thinking ‘bout the old town lore
Should I run, or should I stay and fight?
Folks say it’s bad luck, but what do they know?

[Chorus]
Oh, black cat crossed my road
Ain’t no reason to be afraid
Just a little superstition in the air
Let’s keep on moving, we’ll be just fine

[Verse 2]
I saw a crow on the telephone wire
And a broken mirror by the door
But I ain’t one to let these things conspire
To keep me down, I’m not that kind of man

[Chorus]
Oh, black cat crossed my road
Ain’t no reason to be afraid
Just a little superstition in the air
Let’s keep on moving, we’ll be just fine

[Bridge]
In this small town, they love their tales
Of ghosts and ghouls and witches’ spells
But I’m gonna live my life, not hide and wail
‘Cause I’ve got better things to do than dwell

[Chorus]
Oh, black cat crossed my road
Ain’t no reason to be afraid
Just a little superstition in the air
Let’s keep on moving, we’ll be just fine
