Grandpa's Ghost Story

[Verse 1]
Grandpa sat us down one night, his eyes a-twinkling
Said, "Now listen close, I've got a tale to tell"
He took a sip of whiskey, and with a grin he started
"Once upon a time, in a town not far from here..."
[Chorus]
Oh, grandpa's ghost story, it's a hush and a laugh
In the dark of the night, when the moon is half
[Verse 2]
There was a man who lived alone, on the edge of town
Folks said he was strange, kept to himself, never around
But on Halloween, they'd see a light, flickering in his window
And some say they heard chains rattling, and a ghostly echo
[Chorus]
Oh, grandpa's ghost story, it's a hush and a laugh
In the dark of the night, when the moon is half
[Bridge]
He told us how the man had found a chest, buried deep
Full of gold and secrets, that made his heart leap
But with the treasure came a curse, a spirit chained and bound
Every year on Halloween, the ghost would walk the ground
[Chorus]
Oh, grandpa's ghost story, it's a hush and a laugh
In the dark of the night, when the moon is half
[Outro]
And as the fire crackled, and the night grew cold
We knew that grandpa's stories, would live on, to be told
